Faculty Involvement

Faculty are critical to the success of first-generation and low-income students and can be involved in numerous ways including:

  • Facilitating a RU-1st Byrne Seminar
  • Instructing a RU-1st transition or preparation course
  • Hosting a signature course on issues access, diversity, and equity in their department
  • Lead a Distinguished Carr Lecture
  • Mentor a current undergraduate student
  • Co-sponsoring events and activities with the office of Student Access and Educational Equity (SAEE)
  • Participating in the Paul Robeson Leadership Summer Institute
  • Provide research experience and opportunities for interested students
  • Attend events sponsored by RU-1st that connect and engage with students
